Because of her efforts, Loraine and WUSL have been honored with the Mayor's Award for Excellence, a White House Award for Private Sector Initiatives, The National Council On Drug Abuse Entertainment Industry Council Award for Excellence, the Philadelphia Human Rights Commission Human Rights Award, the Tri-State Black Media Coalition's Outstanding Women In Media Award, the Women's Alliance For Job Equity's Certificate Of Courage, and the National Political Congress of Black Women's Media Award.

WUSL's Community Service Campaign, coordinated by Loraine, won the highly prestigious Crystal Award from the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) in 1993, 1996 and 1998, the only station ever to win this honor three times. In addition, WUSL in 2000 was designated a Daily Point Of Light by the Points Of Light Foundation.
